Jacob Fetchko
Outstanding Grade 12 Male Athlete Bill Gray Award Jacob was a four-sport athlete as he played key roles on our Senior Boys Rugby, Volleyball, Track & Field and Ball Hockey teams. Jacob brought his bright smile and a consistent work ethic towards all his athletic endeavours. He exemplified positivity and sportsmanship and encouraged his team-mates and our younger student-athletes to follow suit. |
Andrea Sugue
Outstanding Grade 12 Female Athlete (Diane Murphy Award) Female Sportsmanship 12 (Florence Petersen Award) Administration in Sports (Ernie Fletcher Award) Andrea closes our her senior Varsity year as an integral member of our Athletics' program. She was the captain of our Senior Girls Volleyball team. Her true impact was felt program-wide as she provided the ultimate example of showing school spirit and pride for the black & yellow. She was seen and heard at all of our Varsity games. Andrea utilized her natural leadership abilities to help grow our RAC Student Athletic Council group to the largest numbers yet. She has successfully recruited and mentored a large group of her younger peers to carry on the tradition set forth by Ms. Sugue. We have been blessed to have Andrea part of our program and will work hard to carry on her legacy for years to come. |
Eubert Ayangwa & Derek Do
Male Sportsmanship 12 Bill McKercher Award Eubert and Derek played instrumental roles on our Varsity athletic teams this year. Eubert played on our Senior Boys Basketball and Rugby teams, while Derek was involved on our Senior Boys Soccer and Ultimate teams. Derek was also a key member of our RAC Student Athletic Council as he worked to host varsity games and Intramural tournaments. Both of these boys provided leadership for their team-mates with a relentless work ethic on and off the field/court. These boys provided the example for our younger student-athletes to emulate for years to come. |
Cameron Fung
Outstanding Male Grade 11 Athlete Don Moore Award Cameron was an active member of our Varsity Swim and Senior Boys Volleyball team. On the court, he provided leadership and positivity for his teammates and coaches. He made a huge impact off the court as he helped coach our Grade 8 Boys Volleyball team to the "double" winning both the BNW District and V&D District Championships. When we wasn't coaching or playing, Cameron was our lead official for Varsity volleyball home games. |
Stephanie Zaborniak
Outstanding Grade 11 Female Athlete Sue Mathie Award Stephanie has provided an immense impact on our Athletics' program as she is now a four-time winner of the Athletic award, winning it in her Grade 8, 9, 10 and now in Grade 11 academic year. She participated on our Cross Country, Senior Girls Basketball and Track & Field teams this year. She was the team captain on our Basketball team and always had a smile on her face during competition. |
Anthony Yu
Outstanding Grade 10 Male Athlete Dave Milne Award Anthony was an active member of our Junior Boys Volleyball team, he captained the team to a competitive season, often leading practices and open gym sessions for the boys. His leadership skills went beyond his team as he coached our Grade 9 Boys Volleyball team in a highly competitive season. He best represented the legacy of Mr. Milne with his determination, respect for the game, his teammates, his players and the opposition. |
Laini Glover
Outstanding Grade 10 Female Athlete Laini was a top performer on our Junior Girls Volleyball and Basketball teams this year. She was instrumental in helping our girls qualify for the BC Provincial Basketball Championships this year, marking the return of the Lady Rebels to the Provincial stage. Laini is also an active member of our RAC Sports Athletics' council helping scorekeep, officiate Varsity basketball and volleyball games and assisting with Intramural tournaments. |
Conlin Duong & Kimi Kamiya
Outstanding Grade 9 Male & Female Athlete Award Conlin was a four-sport athlete who competed on our Varsity Swim, Junior Boys Basketball, Grade 9 Boys Volleyball and Junior Boys Soccer teams this year. He led on the sports field with his sportsmanship and consistent work ethic. Kimi was an active member on our Grade 9 Girls Volleyball team and Junior Girls Soccer teams. She was the easy selection as team captain for both teams as her beaming smile and intense work ethic set the example for her teammates to follow. Kimi is also an outstanding contributor to our RAC Sports Athletics' council as she officiated volleyball games, provided scorekeeping duties for basketball games and was the team manager for our Grade 9 Boys Volleyball team. |
Jimmy Zaborniak & Dayanara Rahman
Outstanding Female & Male Grade 8 Athletes Both of these athletes made a tremendous impact in their inagural high school year. Jimmy Zaborniak was a three-sport star playing on our Junior Boys Soccer, Grade 8 Boys Volleyball and Basketball teams this year. His passion for sport combined with his work ethic made him the team leader and star. Dayanara become a quick favourite within our Athletics' program. She was a member of our Grade 8 Girls Volleyball team, Grade 8 Girls Basketball team, Junior Girls Soccer team and Junior Girls Netball teams. Dayanara also become a member of our RAC Sports Athletics' council helping host Varsity home games and Intramural lunch tournaments. Her bright smile and consistent positive energy has been a welcomed addition to our Varsity program. |
